Career History:
I completed my PhD at the University of Cape Town in 1991. I was awarded the Robert A Welch postdoctoral fellowship at Texas Christian University, USA in 1993.  After that I was a visiting Professor at the University of South Florida, USA in 2000, at the University of Bristol, UK (2006), and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2006).  My research interests include solid state supramolecular chemistry and the design of new crystalline materials with optical and electronic function.
